Meek Mill and Jay Z have taken their business partnership to the next level with the official launch of DreamChasers Records.
The paperwork was finalized on Tuesday at Roc Nation’s New York offices. Meek will be heading the label and will be finding new talent to sign to the venture.
The label will work on talent acquisition, creative strategy, marketing, and more.
“I think the time is now,” Meek told Rolling Stone about the deal. “I’m 32 years old, I’m in a nice spot in the music business and I think it’s time for me to focus on growing artists because that’s what I love to do. I love to spend time on helping artists grow, and I think it’s time for me to dive in, business-wise.”
In other news, Meek’s 2008 conviction on gun and drug charges has been thrown out.
The decision was revealed in an 18-page document signed by President Judge Jack A. Panella and it’s highly unlikely that prosecutors will file to retry the Philly rapper.
Congratulations to Meek Mill on all his recent success.
