Ariana Grande “Sweetener” First Week Album Sales Revealed

Ariana Grande delivered her highly-anticipated album Sweetener on August 17th and now we have its first week sales numbers.

Ariana’s fourth studio LP was able to overtake Travis Scott’s Astroworld for the number one spot on Billboard’s Top 200 list with 231,000 units sold (127,000 from traditional album sales). This is Grande’s third project to debut in the top spot following My Everything and Yours Truly. Dangerous Woman peaked at number two.

Sweetener is the second largest release by a woman in 2018, only bested by Cardi B’s debut album Invasion Of Privacy. It’s also had the biggest streaming week ever for a female pop artist pulling in over 126.7 million plays.

Another notable placing on the chart is Young Thug’s Slime Language, which debuts in a respectable eighth position. The project was able to rack up 41,000 units (38,000 from streaming).

Congratulations Ariana on a terrific first week!
