Earlier this month, fans of rising Florida rap star Kodak Black expected him to be released from prison after he pleaded no contest to a variety of charges and was sentenced to house arrest.
Unfortunately, during the process of his release, Kodak was flagged with an outstanding warrant in South Carolina for sexual battery.
The FADER made a freedom of information act request, which revealed the details during a response from the Florence County Sheriff’s Office.
“On or about February 7, 2016 Octave is alleged to have engaged in the sexual battery of the victim at a hotel located at 2120 West Lucas Street, Florence, SC,” the report stated.
According to an Instagram post made from Kodak Black’s account and a YouTube video advertising the show, the rapper was scheduled to perform at an FMU Homecoming concert on Saturday, February 6th. A recap video shows that the event did indeed take place.
The Florence County Sheriff’s Office told The FADER over the phone that “at some point” Kodak will be transported to Florence County for an arraignment and bond hearing. He’s currently being held in custody in Broward County, Florida.
More details as the story develops.
