The Safaree Samuels and Nicki Minaj saga continues today as TMZ stirs the pot with some new information.
It’s being reported that Safaree is preparing a lawsuit against Nicki Minaj for unpaid royalties from the albums The Pinkprint, Pink Friday, and Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. He also wants a cut of her latest singles “Only” featuring Chris Brown, Drake, and Lil Wayne, “Flawless (Remix)” with Beyoncé, and “Feeling Myself,” which also features Queen B.
The apparently struggling rapper claims that he was instrumental in the creation of Minaj’s music. Nicki even gave him executive producer credits on her first two albums, Pink Friday and Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.
Samuels plans to bring plenty of evidence to court including videos of him working with Nicki, voice memos from recording sessions and footage from studio sessions. He says he also has multiple witnesses to validate his claims.
“Everytime it came to writing raps and doing music, it was her, me, and the beat. She doesn’t do it by herself,” he told The Breakfast Club back in January. “It’s me and her. Don’t discredit me on what I’ve done for you.”
The couple ended their relationship last year after being together for over a decade.
