Chief Keef signed a deal with Greek billionaire Alki David’s record label FilmOn this Summer and since then has been struggling with cancelled shows. Now, David has temporarily suspend Sosa’s contract due to conflicts of interest.
According to David, Keef has been scheduling unapproved tours recommended by what he considers to be shady management, and has done features outside of his contract with artists such as D. Flores, who was charged with the kidnapping and sex trafficking of a 15 year old girl.
David stated, “Chief Keef’s contract was suspended 2 weeks ago because his management went off and did a tour without our approval. Not happy with the direction they are taking him. Same shit over and over. Limiting his appeal to a wider audience and I’m not saying he should sell out, just be more prolific.”
Chief Keef has many projects on the way including Peacocks, Peacoats, Flavor & Paper, Blood Thicker Than Water, and others, so hopefully this news won’t impact those releases.
Keef has always done things his own way, so Alki will likely have to get over their differences or the Glo Gang rapper will pull a repeat of his departure from Interscope Records.
