Lil Durk has finally opened up about the death of his cousin OTF NuNu, who had inked a recording deal with him just two days prior.
The last couple of years have been very up and down for the young Chicago rapper. After finding success with his Signed To The Streets mixtape in 2013, Lil Durk linked up with French Montana and his Coke Boys imprint to help further his career. Shortly after that, his good friend RondoNumbaNine was arrested on murder charges and has been locked up ever since.
Durk has dedicated 2014 to the release of his Signed To The Streets 2 project, but not without more setbacks. This May, just minutes after posting a picture to Instagram, OTF NuNu was shot dead in front of a children’s store in Chicago, a murder that has not yet been solved.
In this quick clip with VladTV, Lil Durk reveals that Nuski had only started rapping 8 months before his deal and murder. When asked how he felt when he heard the news that his cousin was dead, Durk responded, “Fucked Up.” He also went on to say he’s lost 20-30 friends in his lifetime.
UPDATE: Added part 2 of the chat which features Durk speaking on wanting to sell 100,000 copies of his debut album opening week, having 20 songs with French Montana in the vault, and much more.
UPDATE #2: In yet another interview with Vlad TV the XXL Freshman opened up about being willing to work with Chief Keef again despite previous beefs and clarified his recent comments comparing himself to 2Pac that had the internet in a frenzy.
